About Solfena

For the love
of making music.

A little more understanding. A little more room to explore. A closer connection to the music you play.

Solfena is a music practice companion for iPhone and iPad. It brings your score, playback, and coaching together to help you spend time with the details that make a piece your own.

The idea at the heart of it

Make space for
understanding.

There’s a familiar moment in practice: you reach a passage that asks for something more. Perhaps the rhythm feels unfamiliar, a line gets lost in the texture, or you want to hear how the notes fit together.

Solfena is designed around that moment. Bring a compatible MusicXML score, listen to it, and focus on a few measures. Slow the playback, choose an instrument part, or ask about what’s on the page. Then return to your instrument with a clearer idea of what to explore.

The aim is simple: give listening, learning, and repetition a place in the same session. Progress can be as small as understanding a rhythm you used to rush past.

Our approach

Thoughtful practice.
Room to be you.

Curiosity comes first.

A question about one note can open up a whole phrase. Solfena brings the score, its sound, and an explanation into the same space, so you can follow that curiosity while the music is still in front of you.

Your pace matters.

Some passages need a slower tempo. Others need another listen. Choose a small section, repeat it, and decide when to move on. The practice session stays in your hands.

Music has many voices.

Piano is part of the picture, alongside strings, winds, guitar, and ensemble scores. Different instruments bring different questions. The starting point is the part you want to understand.

A companion for your practice

Technology with
a musical purpose.

Solfena’s coach explains selected score passages in English and Brazilian Portuguese, through text or spoken answers. Built-in explanations sit alongside optional live AI coaching on compatible Apple Intelligence devices.

The coach can help you explore notes, rhythm, and practice ideas. It cannot hear or grade your instrumental playing, and AI answers can be mistaken. Your listening, your judgment, and the guidance of a music teacher still have an important place.

Your imported library and practice settings stay on your device. Playback and bundled voices run locally, too. You can read more about the app and website’s different data handling in the privacy notice.
